Well, first you write a script. Then you have someone design a set and get a film crew together…

Uhh..what was the other person talking about>>>
??
well…u bend the bobby pin till it’s like straight….then you put it in the hole of a doorknob…and when it’s in there …wiggle it around and when u feel pressure on it..then you push ..and it’s unlocks the other end…

there’s a great walkthrough for this at how stuff works .com, you avtually need more than a bobby pin there magnum pi, you need a torque wrench or flat head screwdriver and some form of pick, or there is a simple tool called a rake.

Modern technology also has electric lock picks to do it for you but that’s not fun and you need a machine.

the pictures worth a thousand words, i suggest you find it, it’s a rather lengthy explanation but very simple in theory, takes practice to get the feel for actually doing it though.

the torque wrench or screw driver goes in the slot away from the pins. You twist the key hole slightly to create a gap where the pins meet. now when you slide the pins up with your pick they will go up but catch on the lip you create by twisting the wrench in the key hole. Put all 5 pins up thier slots and let fall to resting against this lip you made (see diagram at HSW). when all are up you twist the wrench or screw driver all the way and door opens.

the rake is used instead of the pick, it is a flat little metal plate, you twist the lock hole like before, now just put the rake into the back top of slot and quickly and fluidly swipe it out, this sends all pins flying up at once, you can cath them on the lip like before or be slick and twist the wrench in the same swipe motion to just open it 1 2 3.

it can be done, as the Bean man describes, but I don’t think you are really going to get much results using a bobby pin, the pick, or rake, has to be pretty stiff to work or it just bends and won’t do the work it needs to. You can buy picks and such on the Internet, but in most states these are considered burglar tools unless you are a practicing locksmith. In NY City, owning such is a felony. Be careful!
