I would like a guide to pick padlocks, car locks, deadbolts, etc. I would also like to know a website I can get a cheap decent set of picks and maybe a good practice lock. Thanks.

Your local prison, lol You may well be on your way there, any way! LOL
Contact a locksmith school for info on how to pick locks. If you’re interested in it as a profession, that’s the best way.

You can get a book down at your local criminal supply store.
Generally, tools and information are provided only to licensed locksmiths, as, obviously, if this info were readily available to just ANYONE, there would be no need for locks, right?
You MAY be able to find info at the library, but don’t count on it. You will probably have to go to a locksmith school.
start attending parole hearings at your local penitentiary and strike up a conversation with the convicts, who knows they may turn out to be your roommate some day
Did you try http://www.lockpickguide.com? This site provides an overview of different types of lock picks, how to use them, and how to pick different types of locks. A good company to buy picks from is South Ord, I have their 17 piece set and it’s great!
