Fallout 3 Lockpicking Guide – Lesson 1

Move the pin all the way to one and other side and tap a bit with he screwdriver to feel how much resistance there is. Depending on how much resistence there is, you should guess where the sweet spot it. In this example it is at 2 o’clock. I use this method (average and easy locks) and barely ever break a pin.

I usually guess on a spot and move it extremely slowly, and progress from there.

They’re usually in first aid kits.

After awhile I noticed that the sweet spots are in the same place on every level of lock except Very Hard…
The only variables are if it’s to the left or right.
And the positions for levels of locks change depending on your level…if you don’t change Lockpicking skill, you’ll notice it…

i save and force lock if i dont have any pins

TenshihanQuinn November 4, 2009 at 2:57 am

You find them all over the place in lockers, on people, in metal boxes, etc.

In other words, you have to scrounge-around looking for them. They aren’t in just one location. Look everywhere you can and they will turn up eventually. ;)

ClTIZEN November 4, 2009 at 4:18 am

Save, force lock, load… until you open it

OnlyHighWhenDriving November 4, 2009 at 8:13 am

Go into the metros. Ghouls will carry loads of em’.

fletch2405 November 4, 2009 at 8:24 am

Oh thats why I was having that problem too, and it was starting to get annoying. But what if you want to pick a 100 lock where you have to travel a long distance to get there and can’t find anywere to sleep?

In Fallout 3
I wonder if there is a code for many forks, and I find that I need to open some things …
Thanks for your help. Answer

I don’t find many bobby pins anymore, I only have 6 left.

otb20 November 4, 2009 at 10:00 am

Feral Ghouls seem to have bobby pins on them quite alot, head into one of the metros that has them in and just tear them apart :D

tmweb95 November 4, 2009 at 10:38 am

i wasted all the bobby pins amata gave me, breaking into the market at rivet city and stealing guns ^.^
but now im out D=
if anyone finds a vender that sells any PLEASE tell me!

danielever99 November 4, 2009 at 11:05 am

I think I see what your trying to say in the description, but in fewer words:Rotate the bobbypin to a 90 degree angle on each side to find out which way it turns, then guess and check for the rest of it.

danielever99 November 4, 2009 at 11:56 am

You randomly find them in loot, and you can also find them in shopkeepers inventories too.The ones that Amata gives you at the start of the game should probably be enough to easily get through the main quest line though

tmweb95 November 4, 2009 at 12:13 pm

how do you get more lock picks, or bobby pins?
