I’ve just started to become interested in lockpicking padlocks for a hobby and even though i’ve read some material on the internet i’m still confused about certain things. Here they are:
a) what do i have to do to push each lock down and how do i know when i’ve pushed one down?
b) when i’ve pushed all the pins down will i have to turn the lock with tension wrench or will it open by itself?
thanks

Its hard to describe, you can just feel the pins go down…But also, locks are coming to the point where they are made differently. Lock pick sets now need to be made to pick specific types of locks. Then again, you aren’t doing it for ‘illegal purposes’, so you would just need to buy whatever lock you want to practice picking??? You can’t have lockpicks by the way, its illegal. You can get all the supplies from a locksmith catalog.
For a combination lock you’ll need a stethoscope ,like the doctors have, for all others i’m not positively on how to do it.
