I would like to know the most challenging pin combination to pick (rake and wrench). I have heard that the maximum pin difference is 5 (a 2 next to a seven for example). If this is true, then would 27272 be harder to pick than say 94949 or 49494?

I have an old lock from middle school that i put on a lock box and now i cant remember the combo and i want to open it. any ideas that are very cheap and that don’t involve cutting the lock. I tried doing it by touch but i think i only got two numbers. I also tried this soda can idea, where it slides the lock thing back so the lock opens that does not work. Does anyone have any other ideas?
