In Oblivion I suck at lockpicking, every time i lift one of those sticks it come sback down,breaking my pick, even on the very easy levels I waste dlike 20 picks o nit before it accually opened, how do I know whe nto try to lock it in without breaking a pick?

Hello, a week ago my parents went on vocation and changed the top lock. I managed to pick it but now I can’t close the top lock. They are coming back home today at night. So I got a screw driver and unscrewed the top locking thinking I could close it like that but now I can’t get it back on. There was like a little metal thing on the side that was kinda sticking out but now it popped out real far and this metal thing inside the lock is sticking out and i cant get the whole thing back on. please i need help getting this thing back on anyone a locksmith or know anything about locks and can guide me through how to get it back on. I have like 12 hours to do this or my ass is dead.
